Marking Check Ball Location
March 21, 2019

Raybestos Powertrain Sales & Product Development Support Engineer, Irvin Gers used a 4R70W transmission valve body to explain how marking or "scribing" the location of valve body check balls can be helpful if you don't have a diagram.

Instructions:

Unless you have a diagram of where the check balls go, mark the inside of the pockets where the check balls come out to avoid confusion.  This is because there are some bell body castings in transmissions in general that will have a pocket that looks like a check ball, and yet it did not come with one

Note: do not scratch or marking check balls in places where a gasket might go
